Beach Bag Essentials
Maybe I’m a little late to the party, but I have yet to make it to the beach so far this summer. I cannot wait to relax on the sand, listen to the sound of the waves, and doze off whenever I’d like. Okay, so maybe I was dreaming during that last part, because, Motherhood, but you get the idea. If you’ve already been this summer, or regularly go, what are your beach bag essentials this year? To aid in my gathering of all the necessities, I thought I’d pull together a few ideas…some of which I currently own, some of which I’d like to…
The Hunter Duffel Bag above is what I’ll be using at the beach to haul both mine and my kids gear…it’s rubberized exterior and interior should wipe down easily, making it ideal for sandy toys and sticky hands. I scored this fun bag at the Hunter x Target collaboration a year or so ago! As it is no longer available except via Ebay, I’ve also included an awesome alternative from Dakine, whose beach bags I also own and love. Another must have: good reading material…a magazine or two to flip through (House Beautiful, Southern Living, and Garden & Gun are my favorites), as well as an easy, enjoyable read. A friend gifted me this novel over six months ago and I have yet to make time to read it (so sad!!).
I also love a good, wide-brimmed sun hat…although I once enjoyed sizzling like a rotisserie chicken on the sand, these days I’m all about sun protection. I own this monogrammed cutie from Marley Lilly, as well as the Neutrogena Sunblock Face Mist. I came upon this facial mist from Caudalie and would love to try it! I’ve used a similar hydrating mist before while traveling via air, but imagine it would be quite refreshing post-beach as well.
Last but not least, let’s talk wardrobe…this black ruffled suit from Hilor is so chic and comfy looking. I own a very similar one in White and love it! I usually opt for a shirtdress style cover up, similar to this blue and white option from Tommy Bahama. The look: effortless and casual, yet pulled together!
I leave you with my three favorite flip flop choices…all of which I have owned for years, in various models. These Reef sandals are by far, the most comfy and forgiving sandals you will ever own…you can walk through muddy puddles, wear them for a decade, etc. and they somehow still look and feel brand new. Rainbow sandals win my vote for comfort AND most aesthetically pleasing, while the Havaianas sandals are easiest for packing…I also gifted these to my bridesmaids as part of a goodie bag, so their versatility is endless!
