Girl's Bedroom Design
Well hello ya’ll! If you’re like me, and you have kiddos who have been home and are preparing to stay home for the upcoming school year, you may have found yourself in need of more space…a better desk, or just a refresh in general. Quarantine has a way of bringing those details to light : ). As for me, I’ve been busy working on “Big Girl” bedroom re-fresh for two of my little ones. First thing first, we added a gorgeous Henry Link desk I re-finished and painted, as detailed in my post from a couple of weeks ago.
Next, after an extensive search and two long back orders later (ugh), I found a big girl bed both I and my middle child could agree on. She wanted a four poster with canopy, curtains, etc…I wanted a classic design that could grow with her ever-changing style. We decided on this gorgeous faux bamboo bed was a lucky find via KP Bungalow on IG. I purchased a set of two and am saving the second beauty for my baby’s room one day! Bonus: these two beds match and can be saved for a guest space in the distant future…love that flexibility.
There are so many adorable options out there for a “Big Girl” bedroom right now…and when with all the families suddenly finding themselves faced with virtual school this fall, I’m sure there are other Mamas out there pondering a re-fresh as well! Here’s a few items I’ve incorporated, as well as others I’d love to add:
Although the bed above is no longer available from Pottery Barn Kids, I have the photo linked to the shop from whence I purchased two twin Faux Bamboo beds…one of which I refinished and painted, as pictured above. I adore the pink Chinoiserie lampshade I found from Catherinerowedesigns, an Etsy store. How cute is that?! I’ve also included the desk color I chose, Blue Hydrangea, as well as the wall color for the room, Pink Peony, both by Benjamin Moore. The desk chair is the exact same as the one I went with, minus the silver legs (I chose gold). Additionally, the delicate floral chandelier I went with six years ago is miraculously still available and easily purchased via Home Depot.
These are uncertain times, but with all of us spending so much time at home, I have to think a special space to call your own means a lot to a little girl.
